Amazon.com Product Description
The Nikon 6456 4.5 to 14 x 40 Buckmasters side-focus Nikoplex silver riflescope is a rugged, waterproof, shockproof and fogproof scope. Put through an advanced vacuum process that removes virtually all air and water molecules, the scope’s tube is then filled with nitrogen and O-ring sealed. This process ensures that the Nikon 6456 will perform under the most stringent of field conditions without suffering any effects of fogging or condensation.

The precision-ground and polished optical glass is coated with Nikon’s exclusive Brightvue coating that allows 92 percent light transmission, giving you super clarity and high resolution. Positive, audible, manual 0.25 MOA (Minute of Angle) windage and elevation adjustments eliminate reticle creep or backlash. The Nikon 6456 features Nikon’s specially designed Nikoplex reticle that is composed of a thick outer crosshair that steps down to a finer crosshair at the center. This feature leads your eye to the point of focus and allows for quick, easy targeting. This scope also features Nikon’s side-focus parallax adjustment for even greater targeting ease. Just set the adjustment at the distance you will be shooting from and your targeting will be clear and accurate.

The Nikon 6456 features an adjustable 4.5x to 14x magnification and a large, 40 millimeter objective lens diameter, giving the scope an exit pupil size of 8.9 to 2.9 millimeters, depending on magnification. A 4.5x magnification setting on this scope makes the image appear four and a half times larger than with the eye alone with an exit pupil of 8.9 millimeters. In other words, objects at 100 yards appear to be only 22 yards away through a 4.5x scope and the Nikon 6456 would work great at this magnification in almost any light. At the 14x magnification setting, the exit pupil would be reduced to 2.9 millimeters. The Nikon 6456 is a full-sized scope with an adjustable magnification and exit pupil, making it an excellent choice for low light targeting as well as long distance targeting in full light.

About Exit Pupil Size
The size of the exit pupil for a riflescope is determined by dividing the objective lens diameter by the magnification rating. The human eye pupil diameter ranges from 2 to 7 millimeters, depending on the amount of light. For proper light gathering potential, the diameter of the scope’s exit pupil must be equal to or greater than the diameter of your eye pupil at the light level you will be using the scope. If you’re working in low light, your exit pupil size will be of greater importance. With an adjustable 8.9 to 2.9 millimeter exit pupil, the Nikon 6456 4.5 to 14 x 40 Buckmasters side-focus Nikoplex silver riflescope is an excellent choice for hunting in low light or long distance hunting in full light.

Talk about an all-star cast: when Otto Preminger brought Allan Drury’s memoir ogle of a Senate confirmation of a morally ambiguous nominee for Secretary of Spot, he got objective about everyone in Hollywood to participate. Though the best roles go to Charles Laughton as a manipulative (but intensely likeable) South Carolina senator and Franchot Tone as the tortured President, not everyone got so lucky; the modern had so many characters that some immense actors (like Gene Tierney, wasted as a Washington hostess) are stunning remarkable trapped in throwaway roles.

Preminger was exquisite progressive by Hollywood standards, and so the Senate he depicts is remarkably diverse, with senators of many ethnic backgrounds. There’s a large cameo (the film’s standout moment) from Betty White, who, as a shrewd Kansas senator, trounces George Grizzard, the spoiled Senator Van Ackerman (from Wyoming, of course, so as to offend the least number of audience members possible) in begin debate on the Senate floor. Preminger was really doughty (for the time) in his willingness to tackle the subject of the blackmail of homosexuals in the film. It should be said, however, that the film’s distinguished depiction of a satisfied bar (the first Hollywood film to do so openly since the institution of the Hays code) as a nightmarish cesspool of vice, where the corpulent effeminate bartender hysterically beckons in the vexed Don Murray (gaze my title), probably did more to retain cheerful men in the closet in the Sixties than anything Hollywood ever did.

Otto Preminger’s film version of Allen Drury’s classic political current was quite the event in 1962 but today, it all seems quite tame. Both the film and new deal with the political intrigues surrounding the nomination of Robert Leffingwell to be Secretary of Location. Drury’s deeply cynical original drew its power through its complex characterizations and its then gruesome portrait of an American government dominated by self-interest and hypocricy. Preminger, in his film version, actually tones down the unique but, on the whole, sticks to Drury’s basic vision. The film does a shapely helpful job of establishing the many different conflicts and subplots that swirl around Leffingwell’s nomination but the film’s characters are never quite as vibrant as they are in Drury’s unique. As a director, Preminger usually alternated between being excessively lurid or courageously unbiased. Here, perhaps intimidated by the scope of the film, Preminger’s direction is sadly stodgy and, if not for several ravishing perfomances, the film’s sail would probably be too draggy for most viewers. As well, in today’s times, remarkable of the film’s controversy seems rather dated. We’re no longer alarmed to examine the President presented as a devious power broker or to glean out that a Senator is secretly homosexual. However, in 1962, these were truly courageous statements to obtain. The film has been rightfully criticized for its trashy portrayal of homosexuals (with the prerequisite decadent sax blaring when closeted Don Murray desperately runs from one ecstatic tiki bar to another) but at the same time, its also one of the few films of that era in which a tickled character is presented sympathetically and certainly Preminger made a strong statement, for the time, by casting clean-cut, Mormon Murray in the role as opposed to the typically shifty people usually given such parts.

That said, this is a film that will entertain political junkies. The portrayal of the workings of the U.S. Senate are fairly realistic and the storyline is nicely complex and doesn’t slit the issues to the typical black-and-white issues of most overtly political films. The cast is literally all-star with Henry Fonda and Charles Laughton as the two astronomical names. Both actors are actually a bit disappointing. As Leffingwell, Fonda is in plump wise man mode and as such, comes across as a bit of a bore. As a Southern Senator, Laughton goes overboard and his counterfeit accent is overdone even by the standards of most untrue Southern accents. However, the lesser stars in the cast all turn in finely tuned performances — even if it is a runt bit jarring to sight Betty White sitting in the U.S. Senate. Already in decline, used leading man Franchot Tone is almost painfully believable as the dying President while Lew Ayres makes the perfect likeable but lightweight Vice President. Walter Pidgeon, as the Senate majority leader, conveys the man’s overall benevolence while aloof remaining a credible power player. As womanizer Lafe Smith, Peter Lawford at times seems to be channelling more of his well-known brother-in-law than ’60s audiences would have liked to admit while Burgess Meredith is both pathetic and heart-rendering as an unstable outmoded communist who accuses Leffingwell of being a subversive. Its impossible, for me at least, to read Drury’s original without picturing Don Murray as tormented Brig Anderson, so powerfully does Murray inhabit the role. However, the best performance goes to one of the more unsung members of the cast. As Sen. Fred Van Ackerman, character actor George Grizzard perfectly embodies the man’s inappropriate blandness and creates a character who is actually distinguished more menacing the more hysterical portrait presented by Drury in his unique fresh and its sequels.

In short, this is not a perfect film. However, despite its flaws, it should serene beget a lot of interest for political junkies or anyone who wants a chance to peruse some unheralded actors give some really outstanding ensemble performances.

Customer Reviews:

Fast, but screen leaves something to be desired4
Bought this for my wife, who needed a laptop for portability. She plays a lot of games, particularly WoW and casual games, so I wanted something with a dedicated graphics card and a strong processor. Having an i7 CPU and 6 GB of RAM, the laptop offers plenty of performance headroom, no problems there.

PROS: Fast CPU, lots of RAM, hard drive big & fast, nice keyboard with automatic backlighting, decent build quality.

CONS: LCD far too milky with poor contrast. Simply a par screen, suitable for a laptop at the lower end of the spectrum, not at the near-premium level. Merely adequate, which is surprising for Sony.

This is My Review, My opinion, Don’t judge me >:D5
I bought this Sony F series laptop 1 or 2 months ago, and I’m currently using it right now to write this review. In my opinion, this is a laptop worth getting for the price you pay. I mean, come on guys, Intel i7?! newest processor there lol. Running at 1.6GHz doesn’t sound too interesting but they didn’t add that it has Turbo Boost which can run up to 2.80GHz. Its a Quad core but as I see it, looks like there is 8 of them but I could be wrong, I’m not a computer geek or anything but I assume the number of Bars in the task manager means something. Anyways, the illuminating keyboard catches my eyes, 500GB is a bit tad too small so I bought a 500GB external Hard Drive for my F series. This comes with a NVIDIA Geforce graphic card with 1GB VRAM dedicated to it. With such a nice CPU, Graphic card, and 6GB of ram; I can run up to 3 games; write an essay, watch a movie, and listen to music ALL at the Same Time! And I have not experience any difficulty with this Laptop. Its a true multitasker. The fan is quiet when you don’t run too much apps but It does get a little noisy when running games but you can barely hear it if you listening to any music lol. But I was told, if your lucky, you can get your hands on a fully working laptop, but if you’re not so lucky, you might end up like the rest of the guys that reviewed it bad here. So, to summarize:

Pros: Top of the line CPU with Turbo Boost (up to 2.8GHz)
A wonderful Multitasking machine
I just can’t get enough of the illuminating keyboard LOL!
6 GB ram, 500 GB hard drive, Geforce graphic card with 1GB
1920 x 1080 HD resolution
(oh i forgot about this) It has an Energy star symbol on it :D
Blu-ray Disc player

Cons: Only 2 USB and they are all on the right side closest to you. Some USB can get in your way when using a mouse x.x
I got the squeaky spacebar (HATE IT haha) other than that, this wouldn’t be in my con section if I didn’t get the squeaky key
Last but not least, Based on your luck, If you end up like all the other people that put a bad review on this >:D

Overall: I LOVE THIS COMPUTER. It destroys my Dell XPS (don’t buy Dell >.> went through two country and given two different answers from tech support that lead me to buy this)

So, for all my Multitaskers, hardcore gamers, Illuminating keyboard lovers (hehehe) This is the right laptop for you. HIGHLY recommended. ^^

Thank you for reading this review. This is all customer opinion, not from any manufacturers that would put down a company lol.

So Close yet so far from perfection4
I do not need to go into the specifications that are already listed on the item description of this product. The RAM, HD size, and so forth are all as claimed. The I7 core is pretty quick but I have yet to really put it through its paces. As far as internet access goes…. I gave my dual core 1545 DELL to my girl friend and she chuckled at the fact that my new spiffy VAIO F series was no faster than her newly acquired 1545 with dual pentiums. Truth be it known, when surfing the internet, you are at the mercy of the server’s speed to which you are accessing; so suck all you want, if the straw is small, the information flow will also beee sloooow. NOW for the kooler things about it. We stayed at a suite in a major city and for all the amenities the DVD player in the room was connected to the LCD television via RCA jacks….so the picture and sound was lousy. Granted we were on vacation, but we were worn out one night and just wanted to watch a purchased BLURAY disc. That was when this computer came in handy… the BLU RAY player performed perfectly and I hooked it up to the TV via HDMI cable in a snap and there it went. Great pic and sound. (I carry an HDMI cable in the bag) The 2 USB ports are right next to each other on the right side so if you’re left handed like I am, the mouse cable had better be long enough to reach around. I was not gonna buy a new blue tooth mouse when my old one worked fine. The 2 ports are also too close together so some larger connectors will interfere with each other no doubt. Back lit keyboard is terrific in low lit situations and you will use it more often than you might think. ONE point made before by others and it is on the money…the screen is TOO MILKY for a high end laptop!!!!!! What was the deal?!?!? Sony had a stack of them to use up before they would use quality screens?! My old 1545 is better than this screen!??! And the other comment is also valid…the battery life is short as the power demand seems high. The power supply converter is very large. And…in my opinion, the speakers are weak. For this much money, Sony could have done better.

Customer Reviews:

Better GPSs are out there1
I was one of their early adopters (way before USGA and R&A made them legal) and had their original SkyCaddie. Back then, it was a technological breakthrough and I benefitted (and my buddies) on the course. And last year I started my quest to find the latest golf GPS. Of course, the first place to look was at SkyCaddie. SG5 was their first color display, improved GPS reception, bigger display…but nothing really new in terms of features. I guess they figured they had the market cornered as their competition was range finders. Meanwhile, I was starting to get tired of their limitations such as I can only load 10 courses at a time, their customer service (or lack of) and their annual membership.

However, while they sat on their rear, this product sector evolved and other competitors jumped in. This year there are whole suite of new GPS with next generation features. I looked at uPro Golf (now owned by Callaway). Cool flyby like what you see on TV, but noticed from other users that it had several common issues mostly with their display and battery life. So my search continued. I then looked at OnPar Golf. It looked like my iPhone with the similar touchscreen and icons. That UI works for iPhone, but not for golf GPS. Then I looked at Bushnell Yardage Pro XCG. I thought this was it. It had everything I wanted, no major issues mentioned by other users/reviewers. One of my buddies bought one and I had a hands-on experience on a course. I was actually one click away from owning it (from Amazon, of course) and I decided to make one last google…and then I found Garmin’s Approach G5 unit. Yup, it’s most expensive GPS unit but it’s made by Garmin, the GPS expert. I’ve been very happy with their Nuvi GPS units. They currently have 9,400+ courses and they’re FREE. NO ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS! You simply download new courses from their web site and you can load all those courses on your unit so no more shuffling courses onto my unit. Best of all, it’s waterproof! Unlike Skycaddie, you’re not limited to the 40-targets on each hole (though,I typically only see a handful). You just drag a circle with your finger on a birds-eye-view and it will tell you how far you are to that. It also keeps scores up to 4 and you can download it to your PC afterwards. I also like that you use batteries instead of rechargeable. I lost count of time I forgot to charge my SkyCaddie and when my buddies call me last minutes I couldn’t use it the whole round. Now, I just keep spare batteries in my bag.

So, the bottom line is before you consider SkyCaddie units, research the other GPS models before plunking down your hard earned money. I’m confident that you’ll find one with much better features for a similar price. If you’re interested in the Garmin G5, there are ton of videos on YouTube so check them out! If money is not an option, then definitely go with Garmin Approach G5. Otherwise, the Bushnell Yardage Pro XCG is your best bet.

Also, for those that own iPhone 3G/3GS there are quite a few apps you can use to make your iPhone into Golf GPS. I’ve been tinkering with Golfshot (the $29.99 version. Don’t bother with their 99 cent version) and I have to say it’s damn good app. It even comes with statistical report so you know which part of your game you should be working on. But I’m sticking with my Garmin G5, because the Golfshot depletes my iPhone battery like crazy. My iPhone is not rugged and waterproof either so I’ll use it as my backup, but not as my main golf GPS.

I’m the envy of all my Golf Buds !5
Highly recommended. I read the previous comment and can not understand why he had any problems.

This unit is wonderful. Loaded like a charm. The Subscription was about $40 for a year and you can load 10 courses for this rate. There are higher subscription rates if you’d like to have more courses or even international courses. Change courses as often as you like.

This even had the specs for my favorite “remodeled” course which was finished in February. Very up-to-date info.

Accurate! Will measure to the center of the green and will even measure your drive distance. Problem is, when other people on the course see my skycaddie that all want to “play” with it. It can slow down the game.

Works as expected- It will help your game4
My SG5 works as advertised- set-up went smoothly, course availability is excellent. This unit replaced the SG4 I accidentally destroyed, but links up faster and gives an accurate reading quicker than the SG4. Yardages are fast and accurate. On customer service- they ARE terrible. Don’t expect them to walk you through set up if you have problems. Go to one of the skycaddie forums online if you need assistance. If you must deal with customer service- send an email through the skycaddie desktop (though chances are they will just ask you to return your unit).

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can the SG5 give me the distance to the pin?
A: The SkyCaddie, using the IntelliGreen graphics found on our professionally recorded SkyCourses, provides more information than just the distance to the pin. Once the line of play is selected on the graphical green outline, it provides the minimum carry to get on the green, the maximum limit you have to the back of the green, plus you can adjust to obtain the third distance of the approximate flag location. All three distances are provided simultaneously from any direction as you approach the green. You can then frame your shot in a much larger target area and select the best club. You will hit more greens and have shorter putts than a single number can provide.

When I first saw the title of this movie, I was intrigued. I wasn’t looking for a movie about France, but any movie title with the word Provence has my attention. When I saw it was a TV comedy, I notion it might be a nice few hours hurry. I also imagined it might have some Provence countryside and local flair.

This movie starts out very slowly, so you have to be patient. In fact, I wasn’t positive I had do in the accurate tape to launch with, but soon I figured out what the movie was about. Peter (an advertising executive) and his wife who settle to cease their jobs in England and fair race off to southern France. After buying a quaint farmhouse in Provence, they try to determine into the monotonous paced country life. This is a very laid attend movie, and that is perhaps its charm.

Food is also a theme in this movie. There are romantic restaurants and fun scenes of Peter going to the bakery to come by a baguette for breakfast. There is a bit of drama with the bakery come the waste of the movie.

You will laugh out loud in some scenes as Peter is pulled along with a pig hunting for truffles. There is a “truffle mystery theme” running through the movie. The humor in this made-for-TV romantic comedy is dry English humor, which I quite indulge in. This is really more of a comedy, than a romance. Perhaps the romance is that a couple is trying to obtain their dream and they stick together through the valid and the awful.

What I loved was that Peter was a writer and he is always trying to conclude his new. His wife helps him on a writing assignment about Provence and that is when things turn more into a mystery.

There is a wonderful dose of the “French language” in this movie, but you always know what the actors are saying because Peter and his wife let you know. The cultural misunderstandings are very humorous, but trying in a diagram. Annie and Peter do attempt to fit in and learn as grand French as they can.

When they experience the great and the poor, it is then they savor France all the more. The “mistral” winds (strong winds) fetch them off guard as they never imagined they would have to deal with a freezing frosty environment. When the pipes freeze and they are expecting company, they kill up starting a kitchen renovation, which takes forever to complete.

To top it all off, people retain dropping in unexpectedly and inquire to be entertained. While they savor the company of “genuine friends,” they do attempt to net rid of a summer guest only to have him compose a choice they are not cheerful with. The situations these two characters bag themselves into are quite silly. They also meet up with quite a few involving characters, those being the local residents.

I do wish they had shown more of the Provençal countryside and lifestyle, but it was tantalizing. I have always notion it would be fun to live in France and be a writer. This movie was animated in that regard. I would also care for to live in that house with a pool! What a life! If you like English humor, which is very dry…you will worship it! If you appreciate Provence, France, this is a rare treat.

~The Rebecca Review

A Year in Provence is a thoroughly delectable, witty, droll series starring the tedious John Thaw (Inspector Morse, Kavanagh QC), who sadly died of throat cancer in 2002. The series is based on the real-life experiences of Peter Mayle and his wife who left their jobs and lives in England to travel to the south of France. Mayle’s contrivance was to determine in this idyllic corner of paradise to write a novel; what resulted was a yarn which served as the basis for this heavenly series.

Beginning in winter, the series covers the Mayles’ first year in Provence and dramatises the many trials and tribulations they faced in adjusting to the local customs and peculiarities (like goat racing and truffle hunting) and to their unique environment. There were the gale-force winter winds (“les Mistrals”) to contend with; added to that, the pleasing, rustic conventional farmhouse they bought came complete (alas) with inadequate insulation, frozen water pipes, and no central heating! While the laid-back, indolent lifestyle may have been an attraction when the Mayles were in England, they soon learn it has its drawbacks when it comes to getting anything done–like the much-needed repairs and renovations by the builders! Then there’s the joy of spirited visitors from support home, the pleasure of which is somewhat dimmed when they glean they’ve inadvertently overlapped the visits of three couples.

The series has been presented in a boxed area of four 90-minute episodes–one for each season from Winter through Autumn. Each episode is broken down into three 30-minute parts–one for each month of the season. Though we chose to recognize the series in its 90-minute blocks, one could easily discover it in half-hour blocks if one preferred.

In conclusion, I highly, highly recommend this savory series to anyone who enjoys British entertainment in general. I’m extremely overjoyed I took a chance on this dwelling as it’s been a series our whole family has really enjoyed watching (and one we perceive forward to watching again in the not-too-distant future) . I might unbiased mention (in case it’s not clear!) that one ought not to demand any heavy drama or an action-packed, intricately plotted series here. This is simply not that kind of reveal. In fact, I’d have to say that really belongs in a genre all its hold. It is a nice trim, relaxing display with no sex, violence or abominable language–just a plethora of spicy and often hilarious incidents location against the pastoral backdrop of the attractive Provencal landscape. Fair perfect (in my idea) for unwinding at the ruin of the day!
